Oskar Edberg Wins Business Punk Startup Award for European PowerTennis
Uppdaterat: 26 aug.

Oskar Edberg, founder of European PowerTennis, has won the Business Punk Startup Award at the R26 Summit in Bochum, Germany, representing European PowerTennis in the competition.
The award followed a pitch format designed to move beyond the traditional startup presentation. Instead of relying on a standard stage presentation and pitch deck, participating founders first presented their companies during Business Punk’s “Gondel-Pitch” inside a Ferris wheel cabin.
From these pitches, European PowerTennis advanced to the final together with Blockbrain and Edgeless Systems. Oskar Edberg ultimately won the award for European PowerTennis. Business Punk highlighted the ability to communicate the vision behind the company as a key part of the result.
For European PowerTennis, the business case is built around a clear opportunity: developing tennis into a more modern sports entertainment product.
The concept combines competitive tennis with a faster and more dynamic format, stronger entertainment elements and an increased focus on the overall audience experience.
The ambition is not to replace traditional tennis, but to develop an additional format designed for how audiences increasingly consume live sports and entertainment.
For Oskar Edberg and the European PowerTennis team, the Business Punk Startup Award represents another important step in building awareness around the concept.
The recognition also reinforces an important part of the company’s strategy: a new sports property needs more than a strong format. It needs a clear identity, a compelling commercial proposition and a vision that people can quickly understand.
European PowerTennis is now focused on the next stage of development - continuing to build the format, expand its network of players and partners, create stronger live events and establish PowerTennis as a new sports entertainment property in Europe and beyond.
