What the Next Generation Expects From Sports

A new generation of sports fans is growing up with completely different expectations.

They consume content faster, switch between platforms constantly and have unlimited entertainment available at any moment. TikTok, YouTube, gaming, streaming, concerts and social media all compete for the same attention.

For younger audiences, the experience around the sport can therefore be just as important as the sport itself.

They want pace, energy, personality, music, social moments and something that feels worth both their time and money.

That does not mean traditional tennis needs to change or disappear. It has built one of the strongest global sports in the world.

But there is also room for new formats.

For a younger fan, spending five or six hours watching one match can be a big commitment. Add tickets, travel, food and potentially a hotel, and the overall experience can quickly become expensive.

European PowerTennis is built with this new generation in mind.

In one evening, fans can watch seven professional matches, combined with live artists, DJs, music and entertainment throughout the night.

The matches are shorter, the pace is higher and the entire event is designed as a complete sports entertainment experience.

Instead of asking the next generation to adapt to sport, European PowerTennis is exploring how sport can also adapt to them.
